The governor of Krasnodar Territory, Alexander Tkachyov, has approved formation of a regional Interior Ministry, RIA Novosti cites Tkachyov’s press secretary Anna Minkova as saying.
Tkachyov said last Wednesday that the region will consider reorganization. It will have its own government. One of the three candidates to become the regional interior minister is former Vice Governor Galina Zolina.
The governor said on Twitter earlier that all high-ranking officials of Krasnodar Territory had signed resignation notes. The regional administration will be reduced by 20%.
Tkachyov has been governing Krasnodar Territory since 2000 and was reappointed on April 25, 2012.
