The Austrian police have found the body of the Libyan oil minister Shukri Ghanem in the Danube river near Vienna, western media reports.
According to the available information, the cause of death is not yet clear.
Ghanem worked as a consultant for a Vienna-based company. He was last seen by his daughter on Saturday evening in his apartment on the outskirts of Vienna.
Ghanem served as prime minister from 2003 to 2006 and as oil minister from 2006 until 2011 under Libya’s late leader Muammar Gaddafi.
