At least 22 battalions of reservists of Israeli Defense Forces will be mobilized to enforce the northern and southern borders of Israel due to escalating tensions with Egypt, ongoing civil war in Syria, Cursor reports.
The Defense Ministry has approved the mobilization needs, although they exceed the average. Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman demanded three brigades of the Israeli Defense Forces to move to the Egyptian border.
He sent a message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu where he said that the situation around Iran aggravates. The defense minister proposed formation of the southern division that used to operate until the peace treaty with Egypt was signed.
Most concerns arise over changes in Egypt after parliamentary and presidential polls.
