Germany provides €52,000 for Georgian elections

Germany has provided €52,000 for Georgian parliamentary polls in 2012, presidential polls in 2013 and local elections in 2014 within the framework of the program of the Council of Europe, News Armenia reports.

The program for support of Georgia approved by the Council of Europe in November 2011 provides €642,000 for the upcoming years, €427,000 of the sum were voluntary donations.

The finances will be spent on informing voters having their first elections, activation of voting processes and improvement of understanding of democratic values.

The Netherlands provided Georgia with €224,000 earlier.
