Turkey's Erdogan criticizes Standard&Poor’s

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned Standard&Poor’s for reducing its rating when Turkey demonstrates positive economic growth rate, RIA Novosti reports.

The agency reduced the sovereign rating forecasts of Turkey to BB/B in foreign currency and BBB-/A-3 in national currency from positive to stable.

The Turkish prime minister called the rating reduction ideological. He said that he will no longer view the agency as impartial. At the same time, Erdogan expressed surprised that the agency improved the ratings of Greece and Ireland despite their economic problems and over $100 billion of aid from the IMF and EU.
