Approximately 21 thousand inhabitants of two Chechen regions have been
left without electricity since yesterday, after heavy rains shut down
the Argun power plant, RIA Novosti reports, citing the press-service
of the regional center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
155.8 thousand people living in the Shalinskiy, Shatoyskiy and
Itum-Kalinskiy regions have lost electricity supply, including six
schools, two administrative buildings, two commandant’s offices and
two police stations. The power is planned to be back on at 15:00
Moscow time.
