The level of violence in Syria has been decreasing, despite violations of the ceasefire deal, a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday, RIA-Novosti reports.
The ceasefire agreement between the armed Syrian opposition and government troops was signed on April 12 but has been repeatedly violated.
“Although the ceasefire is not being fully observed, and UN monitors have registered violations on both sides as you know, violence in Syria has generally dropped considerably,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich told a briefing in Moscow, RIA-Novosti quotes his words.
