Russian president parts with government

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is meeting the government at the Kremlin Palace. The president’s term of office ends on May 7, RIA Novosti reports.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the newly elected president, FSO Chief Yevgeny Murov, FIS Chief Mikhail Fradkov, FSB Chief Alexander Bortnikov, FDCS Chief Victor Ivanov and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin were at the meeting.

The Cabinet will be formed two weeks after inauguration of Putin, on May 22. Medvedev will most likely become the Prime Minister. United Russia and the LDPR will most likely start consultations on May 7. The CPRF and Fair Russia will continue consultations on May 8. An unscheduled plenary session was set for 3 pm.
