Georgian foreign minister invited GUAM to monitor parliamentary elections

Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze has sent official invitations to the Parliamentary Assembly of GUAM and the "Community of Democracies" in order to attract observers to parliamentary elections to be held in October, Trend reports.

According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, invitations also highlight the commitment of Georgia to invite many international observers to elections.

On behalf of the President of Georgia Foreign Ministry has sent official letters to a number of international institutions with a request to send observers to parliamentary elections in Georgia. In particular, the invitations were sent to the Office of Human Rights and Democratic Institutions of OSCE, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Parliamentary Assembly of NATO, the European Parliament and the EU institutions.
