Malaysia voices support for Iran's nuclear program

 

Malaysia says it supports Iran's right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, hailing the Islamic Republic as an influential power in the region, Press TV informs.



All the countries that are signatories to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) should have the right to use peaceful nuclear energy, Secretary General of Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohd Radzi Bin Abdul Rahman said on Wednesday. 

During a meeting with outgoing Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi, the Malaysian official praised Iran for its role in the developments in the Middle East and the Muslim world.
