NATO mission appreciates Individual Partnership Action Plan of Azerbaijan

The NATO mission has appreciated the Azerbaijani Individual
Partnership Action Plan (IPAP), Romanian ambassador to Azerbaijan
Nikolae Ureke said at the conference on NATO-Azerbaijani partnership
in Baku, Trend reports.


The plan was observed by the NATO special envoy to the South Caucasus,
Robert Simmons. Ureke said that they are currently discussing the 3rd
stage of IPAP.


Azerbaijan and NATO started cooperating on 4th May 1994, when
Azerbaijan became one of the 27 OSCE members. In April 1996 they
signed an official document defining the directions of cooperation.
Azerbaijan currently has 50 obligations.


On 3rd August 2005, Azerbaijani President Ilkham Aliyev signed the
decree accepting IPAP.
