Leader of Respublika Party to leave parliament, ANC

Leader of the Respublika Party Aram Sarkisyan has left the parliament and does not rule out leaving the oppositional Armenian National Congress, News Armenia reports.

Sarkisyan was the third in the proportional list of the Armenian National Congress.

Aram Sarkisyan was the Armenian Prime Minister in 1999-2000. He is a brother of Vazgen Sarkisyan, first Defense Minister and former Prime Minister killed in the terrorist attack of October 27, 1999. His party Respublika has been part of various political forces. It is currently part of the Armenian National Congress, a coalition of opposition parties under leadership of first Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
