Sergey Shoygu has started governing the Moscow Region, RIA Novosti reports.
The chairman of the Moscow Legislative Assembly, Igor Bryntsalov, read the authorization message for Shoygu. Then the new governor took the oath on the Russian Constitution and the Charter of the Moscow Region.
Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, Acting Vice Premier Igor Shuvalov, Acting Minister for Economic Development Elvira Nabiullina, Acting Minister for Education and Science Andrey Fursenko, Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, former Governor of the Moscow Region Boris Gromov, Chairman of the Russian Union of Cinematographers Nikita Mikhalkov and the head of Moscow State University Victor Sadovnichy were at the inauguration ceremony.
