Berdymukhamedov approves amended version of law on hydrocarbon resources
The president of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, approved amendments
to the law "On Hydrocarbon Resources", Trend reports, with reference to an
official Turkmen source.
According to this document, the state agency for hydrocarbon resources
under the President of Turkmenistan received the right to establish an
enterprise, to acquire shares of other enterprises (companies), to open
branches, representative offices and other units on the territory of
Turkmenistan and abroad.
The agency has the right to charge the relevant state bodies to implement the
free examination of the program and the working plan for the oil contractor in
order to determine their effectiveness and compliance with the legislation
of Turkmenistan.
