Iran starts construction of highway along Caspian coast

Iran has started construction of a highway to bypass Ramsar, Trend reports.

Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi and Transport Minister Ali Niqzad attended the opening ceremony.

The highway will be 10 km long and 46 km wide. It will have eight car lines and two railway lines. Realization of the project will take 3.5 years. Construction will be carried out by Hatamul-Al-Avsia. The project is worth $1.1 billion.

Ramsar is a city in the Mazandaran Province of Iran, bordering with the Caspian Sea in the north. The Ramsar bypass highway is both a transport and a tourism facility under construction.
