Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation and agreed to meet in late May after the CIS summit, RIA Novosti reports.
The officials discussed preparations for the Council of CIS Leaders in Ashkhabad in late May and agreed to have bilateral talks after the meeting.
Berdimuhamedov is on a visit to Tatarstan. He praised Russian-Turkmen ties. Tatarstan is one of the best examples of such relations. Turkmenistan is the main purchaser of KAMAZ trucks.
The Turkmen president attended the informal summit of CIS leaders. He will visit Kazan and meet President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on the second day of his visit to Russia.
