Georgia has the highest unemployment level in the Caucasus, as stated in a report of the European Neighbourhood Policy for 2011. About a third of the population suffers from poverty, Business Georgia reports.
Unemployment has not changed since 2010. 16.3% of the population was unemployed in 2010, 16.5% in 2011. Unemployment of women was lower, compared with that of men (17.9%). The unemployment level of men was 14.5%.
