The Subcommittee for Foreign Operations of the Committee for Appropriations of the US Congress has proposed an increase of support for Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh from $2 million to $5 million. Support for Armenia itself is recommended to total $40 million, rather than $32.5 million.
The subcommittee urged the US Administration to develop a strategy for purpose support of the population in Georgia’s Samtskhe-Javakheti Region, where an Armenian community lives.
