Foreign Minister of Bahrain Sheikh Halid al-Halifa has demanded Iran to stop interfering the affairs of Bahrain and other Arab states, Trend reports.
The statement was made after Iran’s saying that Bahrain is the 14th province of Iran and its population does not want an alliance with Saudi Arabia.
The minister emphasized that Iran has been interfering in its affairs since 1979 and has activated recently.
Iranian Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani said on Tuesday that the decision of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to form an alliance may provoke a crisis in the region. An Iranian lawmaker Zahedan Ali Shahriyari said that Bahrain is the 14th province of Iran and should merge with the latter instead.
