From May 22-24 Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be in Kazakhstan on an official visit, Kazakh Foreign Ministry Spokesman Altai Abibullaev said at a news briefing on Monday, Trend reports.
During the visit Erdogan will meet with the leadership of Kazakhstan. The sides will exchange views on key issues of bilateral cooperation and current international problems.
During his visit, the Turkish Prime Minister will also attend the opening of the Astana Economic Forum.
The visit is held in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
Turkey is currently chair of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
Investment and economic and trade cooperation is one of the priority areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey. As a result of 2011 the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey totaled $ 3.3 billion, which is 80% more than in 2010 ($1.85 billion)
