UN observers admit presence of foreign terrorists in Syria

 

UN observers have admitted presence of terrorists in Syria, RIA Novosti cites UN Deputy Secretary General for Peacekeeping Operations Edve Lads.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad announced presence of foreign mercenaries earlier.

The UN has about 270 observers in six cities of Syria. Observers will arrive in four more cities.

The disorders in Syria have been ongoing for over a year. The UN says that the conflict has resulted in over 9,000 people dead.

The regime and opposition have a cease-fire agreement in force, as proposed by Kofi Annan, special envoy of the UN and LAS.
