Armenia will reform its Interior Ministry. It will have at least 5 main subdivisions. Four of them will be police subdivisions (crime police, municipal police, traffic police and security officers). The fifth will become the Directorate for Emergency Situations, duplicating the Ministry for Emergencies, News Armenia reports.
No final decision on the final version of the ministry has been made. The fight for ministerial portfolios has started. The main candidates for the minister’s seat are Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan, Minister for Emergencies Armen Yeritsyan, head of the Yerevan Police Directorate Nerses Nazaryan.
