The U.S. supports Nabucco gas pipeline, considering it as an important project, Trend reports..
"We strongly support Nabucco. We think it's a very important project. It's going to bring energy diversification on both sides and market diversification," U.S. State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland said at a daily press briefing, the department reported.
This week Reuters reported with the reference to BP's head of fuel refining and marketing Iain Conn that original concept of Nabucco gas pipeline project is no longer considered as a possible export route for Azerbaijani gas. According to Conn, the partners on Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas condensate field development are now considering only two options to transport gas - Nabucco West, which is a shorter version of original project and the South East Europe Pipeline (SEEP).
According to the European Commission energy spokeswoman Marlene Holzner, the full-scale version of the Nabucco pipeline is still under consideration, Reuters reported. "To our understanding, the Nabucco classic version is still on the table," Holzner said.
