The special representative of the UN and Arab League on resolving the Syrian conflict, Kofi Annan, has arrived in Damascus for
talks with President Bashar al-Assad and members of the Syrian
government, ITAR-TASS reports, referring to the spokesman of Kofi
Annan, Ahmed Fawzi.
Annan's visit to Damascus will take place against the backdrop of
tragedy in the town of Houla in Homs Province. As previously
reported by VK, over 90 civilians were killed in Houla as a result of
bombing.
