Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Monday criticized the US ambassador
Michael McFaul for his statements at a meeting with students of the
of the Higher School of Economics in Moscow on Friday, RIA-Novosti reports.
“The estimates of Russian-U.S. interaction [made by McFaul] go far
beyond diplomatic etiquette,” RIA-Novosti quotes the Russian ministry.
On Friday McFaul told students that Russia had “bribed” Kyrgyzstan four
years ago to prompt the country's authorities to shut down the US military
airbase at Manas airport in Kyrgyzstan's capital of Bishkek.
