Expansion of political and economic ties with Iran is a priority for Baku, Azerbaijani Consul General in Tabriz Ali Alizade said, SalamNews reports.
The Azerbaijani official said that there are special diplomatic relations with Iran, as a result of cultural, religious, social and ethnic commonalities.
Alizade emphasized that Baku respects the right of Iran for development of a peaceful nuclear program.
