Bidzina Giorgobiani, the PR secretary of the Georgian Conservative Party, has been fined €900,000 for illegally donating €90,000 to the Komagi Fund, News Georgia reports.
The fund’s accounts were made to support political prisoners who were arrested in mid-April.
Giorgobiani is part of the Georgian Dream coalition of billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili. The illegal donation was made on May 10, 2012. The fund had political and electoral goals and cannot operate for the material interests of citizens, the 26th article on the law of political associations says.
Giorgobiani did not attend the process of his case at the Control Chamber on May 28.
