Putin may arrive on September 7 within the framework of the CSTO military drills, in which Russia and Armenia will take part. Armenia will host drills of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces on September 3-8. They will train collective security systems of the CSTO in the Caucasus.
The CSTO consists of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The director noted that it is not a very suitable date for the visit, because it coincides with the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino. Putin might be unable to travel to Armenia due to celebrations at Borodino.
