China considers the mission of Kofi Annan, special envoy of the UN and LAS, successful and approves it, spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Lu Weiming said, RIA Novosti reports.
Annan arrived in Syria on May 29 right before the massacre in Houla that resulted in over 100 people, including women and children, killed.
The anti-governmental protests in Syria have been ongoing for over a year. The UN says that over 9,000 people have died. The Syrian government says that 3,200 civilians and over 2,500 troops have died in clashes with well-armed militants.
