Mardanov met a delegation headed by Constantine Kosachyov, head of the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs. More attention has been paid to studies of the Russian language, compared with the 1990s.
Baku schools offer high-quality lessons of the Russian language.
Kosachyov expressed satisfaction with efforts of Azerbaijan to teach the Russian language. He approved the idea of opening lyceums and noted that its realization will start soon.
