The Batumi Technological University is one of the most important higher education centers which will bring up a new generation, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili told students of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at the President’s Palace in Tbilisi, Trend reports.
US students are having a special tour in Georgia and study reforms it carried out.
Saakashvili said that the new university will be 200 meters tall. It would be the tallest building in Georgia and the Caucasus. Hundreds of millions of dollars will be invested by the US government. It will prepare high-skilled specialists. Student exchange is planned as well.
The system of exams in schools and university is changing. Technical subjects will be more important at schools.
Dozens of technical schools will open. Saakashvili added that the government encourages students to enter technical and engineering departments at universities.
