Mourning over death of border guards in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan has announced mourning over the death of border guards of the Arkankergen Post on June 5, RIA Novosti reports.

The fire at the post at the Alma Ata Region in the south-eastern part of Kazakhstan happened on May 30. 15 people were found dead, including a local forester. Some media reported that the fire was caused by an attack. 15 people served at the post.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev ordered formation of a special commission to investigate the case. Some of the most experienced specialists of the Interior Ministry, Committee for National Security and the Prosecutor General’s Office were mobilized to investigate the case.
