The South Ossetian parliament has passed the law on state languages. Russian and Ossetian are the official languages for state structures, Res reports.
Mira Tskhovrebova, Vice Speaker and Chairwoman of the Committee for National Policy, Culture, Education, Science, Religion and Media, initiated the issue, she informed MPs about amendments to the project after the first reading.
Article 4 says that social protection refers to politics aimed at studies, preservation and development of Ossetian as the national language.
The law was adopted unanimously.
