Turkey and Azerbaijan will establish a joint company producing arms
within the longstanding military cooperation between Ankara and South
Caucasian countries, News.am reports, citing the Turkish newspaper
Today’s Zaman and Azerbaijani media.
The Azerbaijani company Azersimtel is currently negotiating the
structure and the scale of the new company’s work. Turkish company
Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation will have a large share
in the military facility. In the first stage the company will produce
offensive arms for Azerbaijan.
Later it will produce engineering and munitions. Azerbaijan and Turkey
are likely to export part of the company’s products.
