Two suspected militants have been killed in the restive North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, following an attack in which a security officer died, RIA Novosti reports.
Federal Security Service officer died in hospital, where he was taken after his car was blown up late on Saturday.
Police said they later tracked down three men suspected of carrying out the attack, two of whom were killed in the ensuing gunfight. Their identity could not be known.
The third suspect remains at large.
