Iran requests $10 billion from China for national water supply plan

 

Iran is developing a complex national plan of water supply. China is to pay $10 billion for construction of irrigation systems. It is one of the main water projects, Energy Minister Majid Namju said, Trend reports.

Construction of a pipeline to pump water from the Caspian Sea in the northern part of Iran to central areas of the state is part of the project. Most financing of construction will come from sales of shares of Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters, a contractor of the deal.

The Mazandaran pipeline in the Sari Province will pump water to Semnan in the south-eastern part. About 500 million cubic meters of fresh water will be pumped annually.
