Russia appoints new head of commission for TV and radio broadcasting

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Vice Premier Vladislav Surkov as Chairman of the commission for development of TV and radio broadcasting, RIA Novosti reports.

Vice Premier Igor Shuvalov used to supervise the commission.

The commission includes Nikolai Nikiforov, Minister for Communications, Alexey Gromov, deputy head of the presidential administration, Dmitry Peskov, deputy head of the Presidential Administration and press secretary of the president, Natalya Timakova, press secretary of the prime minister, Oleg Dobrodeyev, Director General of VGTRK, Oleg Dukhovitsky, head of the Federal Agency for Communication, Denis Manturov, Minister for Industry and Trade, Alexander Zharov, head of the Federal Supervision Agency for Information Technologies and Communications, Eduard Sagalayev, President of the National Association of TV and Radio Broadcasters, Mikhail Seslavinsky, head of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications, and Constantine Ernst, Director General of the First Channel.
