Azerbaijan opens new embassy in Amsterdam

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov visited Netherlands on June 11 and attended the opening of the new embassy of Azerbaijan, 1news.az reports.

Azerbaijan has a territory of 2,000 square meters and three buildings.

Attendants of the ceremony laid flowers to the bust of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Netherlands Faud Iskenderov made the opening speech and described activities of the embassy.

Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry of the Netherlands Ed Kronenburg congratulated Azerbaijan and noted the importance of bilateral ties between the two states.

Mammadyarov reminded about intensive economic development of Azerbaijan and expansion of its foreign links. Azerbaijan marked the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations. He also expressed satisfaction with the Azerbaijani Festival in Holland.

State officials, heads of diplomatic missions, presidents and judges of international courts in Hague, academicians and scientists, heads of major companies, NGOs and businessmen attended the ceremony.
