Russian president Dmitrii Medvedev has arrived in the USA on a two-day working visit. Medvedev will hold negotiations with his US counterpart Barack Obama in Washington. It is expected that more than 10 joint statements will be signed. But the president's visit has started in San-Francisco (California), RBK reports.
The Russian leader is meeting with California's governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign a document, to secure the unique historical site of Fort Ross, a settlement established by a US-Russian joint company in 1812. The Russian leader will also visit Silicon Valley.
"This is not an excursion. I would like this trip to end up establishing closer cooperation ties," president said.
