The Azerbaijani and Armenian delegations met in Strasbourg as part of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe's (PACE) summer session on Tuesday, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, Samad Seyidov, told journalists.
The meeting, which was attended by Seyidov and Azerbaijani delegation member Sabir Hajiyev, was held on PACE President Movlud Cavusoglu's initiative. The head of the Armenian delegation, David Harutunyan, and his deputy, Armen Rustamyan, attended the meeting from the Armenian side. The meeting was also attended by PACE Secretary General Matthias Sorinas.
According to the Armenian side, the meeting resulted in Azerbaijan's acknowledgement that both sides have not yet agreed on the framework for cooperation, thus there is no point in moving forward. Also, not a single PACE structure can substitute for the OSCE Minsk Group. A decision was also made to maintain contacts and continue talks in order to settle the Karabakh conflict.
