The Ministry of the Interior denies there are any political motives in the criminal case
into the involvement of bureaucrats in the illegal sale of the
building of the philharmonic orchestra in Nalchik. This was stated on the
website of the Ministry of the Interior.
The statement says that the crime had an exclusively material interest,
because of the planned reconstruction of the city the value of the
land under the building would increase several times, therefore “there can
be no political reasoning in the criminal prosecution.”
The possibility of political motives in the criminal case was claimed
by one of those involved in the case – the minister of state property and
land resources of Kabardino-Balkaria, Khabdulsalam Ligidov.
According to the investigation, the entrepreneur Madina Khatsuyeva,
using her relatives in the government of Kabardino-Balkaria, was
trying to privatize the building of the philharmonic orchestra. The
bureaucrats reduced the price of the building to one million rubles
and the all the employees were forced to move out. The building was
sold to Khatsuyeva on April 17 without auction.
