Iran can expel the Saudi Arabian ambassador

Tehran will take appropriate measures in response to execution of a number of Iranian prisoners in Saudi Arabia for alleged involvement in drug trafficking, the rapporteur of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee has announced, Trend reports.
Saudi Arabia executed the Iranian nationals on the charge of drug smuggling to the kingdom in April this year. Earlier, Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi had contacted Saudi foreign minister to seek drop of the charges against Iranian nationals.
In the aftermath of four Iranians' execution on drug smuggling charges, Iran has cancelled a deputy foreign minister's trip to Saudi Arabia. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was scheduled to meet with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al Faisal in Jeddah.
