Russia demands investigation into Zakayev's appearance in PACE

Russia has demanded the Council of Europe carry out an investigation in connection with the participation of the Chechen separatist leader Ahmed Zakayev at a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Interfax reports.
According to PACE officials, they were not aware of Zakayev's plans to visit the session, they assume he was invited by the liberal block of PACE and has apparently changed his name.
