Israel has started mass repatriation of illegal African migrants. 123 migrants from Southern Sudan have been sent back today, RIA Novosti reports.
Israel has a population of about 8 million people. 60,000 people there are Africans that entered Israel through Egypt. Locals say that migrants cause crime.
Voluntary departure of migrants is rewarded with €1000. Every migrant’s child leaving the state gets €500. The next group of migrants leaves in a week.
About 1,500 people from Southern Sudan live in Israel. Migrants from Sudan and Eritrea will be deported as well. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to make the process legal and well-organized.
