Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree on the appointment of Major-General Viktor Pogolov as interior minister of Ingushetia.
The former head of Ingushetia’s Interior Ministry, Ruslan Meiriyev, was dismissed after an August 17, 2009, terrorist attack on the city police department in Nazran, when a explosive-laden GAZel light truck was blown up, killing 24 people.
Medvedev also signed a decree on Tuesday that released police Major-General Boris Golubitsky from the post of deputy head of the main department on economic security in the Krasnodar Territory’s Interior Ministry, the Kremlin press service said, ITAR-TASS reports.
