Israeli President Shimon Peres said on Sunday that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has no political prospects and that the Arab League (LAS) should take responsibility for formation of a new government in Syria, ITAR-TASS reports.
Many see no alternative to al-Assad. Interference of western states into Syrian affairs would be condemned by the LAS.
The Israeli leader reminded that the Arabs have armies and the UN mandate. He added that US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did not give a quick response on Syria.
