The Arab League (LAS) and Turkey have agreed to hold a session of the Syrian opposition at the LAS headquarters in Cairo in late June, RIA Novosti reports.
Officials of the Turkish government, the LAS secretariat and mission of the UN and LAS special envoy Kofi Annan met in Istanbul on Friday-Saturday. They formed a committee for the Cairo council. Rallying opposition movements of Syria was the main topic at the Istanbul talks.
LAS held a similar council of opposition in mid-May. LAS Secretary General Nabil al Arabi said that consultations with the opposition would continue.
