Spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said that the UN needs to continue the monitoring mission in Syria, RIA Novosti reports.
He reminded that Moscow had pointed out inappropriate statements and actions of foreign forces aggravating confrontation in Syria instead of fulfilling the plan of Kofi Annan.
The UN halted its monitoring mission on June 16 due to increasing violence. UN observers will not visit dangerous areas in Syria.
