Kabardino-Balkarian Leader Arsen Kanokov said that the arrest of administration head Vladimir Zhamborov on June 7 was organized by the head of the Department for Extremism Control of the Russian Interior Ministry Yuri Kokov, Kommersant reports.
Kanokov said that many heads of North Caucasus republics start discreet struggles using their position in federal structures. He reminds that there is not a single instance of officials’ being bribed for sales of the philharmonic building in Nalchik. The building has been in poor condition for years, the new building planned to replace it will be a national fashion center.
Khabdulsalam Ligidov, head of the Federal Postal Directorate Ruslan Zhamborob and head of Kanokov’s administration Vladimir Zhamborov were arrested last week. They are suspected of illegal privatization of the philharmonic.
