Handicapped man from Ingushetia climbs Elbrus peak

Khasan Tsechoyev, a handicapped man from Ingushetia, has reached the western peak of one of the tallest mounts in Europe, Mount Elbrus, Interfax Azerbaijan reports.

The 37-year old man has no legs, but he managed to reach a height of 5,642 meters. The mountain is an active volcano with a height comparable with 7,000-meter mountains, chairman of the Ingush section of the Russian Society of the Handicapped said on Tuesday.

The climber lost his legs during childhood and had psychological trauma. He is a communicative man with a healthy lifestyle and is respected in his village of Ekajevo.
